After a decade of solitary service to the lwa, author Kenaz Filan was initiated as "Houngan Si Pwen Coquille du Mer" at Societe la Belle Venus #2, a Vodou house located in Brooklyn, New York in 2003. Kenaz is the Managing Editor of newWitch magazine, in addition to writing regular columns for Mysteries ("Arcane Cults") and Pangaia ("Rite Behavior") magazines.
Kenaz resides in the New York city area with hir partner Kathy (Mambo Si Pwen Zetwal Kleye), hir reptile collection, and several noncorporeal friends and business associates. Hir second book, tentatively titled "Vodou Love Magic", has been accepted by Inner Traditions and is expected to be published in Fall/Winter 2008.
